Let’s get to work

It’s Time for Help

Hi you, looking for a therapist on the internet. Perhaps it’s a joyous thing that you are ready for help. Perhaps it’s hard to admit you need help. Either way, I am glad you are here.

Therapy isn’t about creating a favorable answer to the question “how are you.” It is about having a space and someone to help you carry what you are going through.

I Help With:

Postpartum and Birth Trauma

Hi there new mom, you’ve researched what to bring to the hospital, decorated a nursery, heard all the opinions on what you should/shouldn’t do with a baby, but somehow there just wasn’t a checklist for this. You birthed a baby and a new role for yourself (whether this is your first or adding another kid to your family). No one really conveyed the toll of sleepless nights or the weight of constantly caring for another person. If you are someone who experienced birth trauma, there is a whole other layer to the postpartum life.

Acknowledging that motherhood is taking a toll on you isn’t a weakness. It doesn’t mean you don’t love your family. It means you need a place where you don’t have to take care of anyone else. You can cry, cuss, laugh and just be you. Work through your thoughts and feelings without the fear you are a burden (a lie postpartum depression and anxiety can convince you of).

Those Who Want to love themselves

Perhaps you’ve been through some things. Trauma, something awful, a hard thing, that thing you don’t talk about…. however you term it in your mind, it’s impacting you. Whether it’s all you can think about, it takes all your effort not to think about it or you don’t even know because at this point you are just going through the motions- it is ok. You are not weak or broken. Trauma changes our brain (truly, we have brain scans that confirm this) and how we perceive the world.

Perhaps you don’t even know where this all started, you just want to life a life and not have to run from those self shaming and critical thoughts.

Anxiety and Thoughts that just won’t stop

Everything feels too big and too scary. Perhaps that is holding you back or perhaps you’ve figured out a way to fool everyone into thinking you are as cool as a cucumber while you are combusting inside. Maybe you can’t stop going down the what if rabbit holes in your brain or maybe you hate the thoughts but can’t get them to stop. Anxiety and intrusive thoughts can take so much from us and it is often an internal battle that other’s aren’t aware of. They don’t see how hard you work to just get the everyday life things done. It is exhausting.
